Kathleen Bergeron's Watercolor on Golden Absorbent Ground

(I love to see the projects our wonderful customers create,
so I was thrilled to see this piece brought into the store. -c)

Kathleen Bergeron stopped by to show us a wonderful piece she is just about to varnish.  It can act as an architectural detail even though it's painted in Watercolor!

Kathleen wanted to keep a wet, loose look, and she's achieved it in this bright and cheerful piece which she will have over a door. Golden's Absorbant Ground makes it possible to create a pourous surface to hold watercolor on just about any surface you can imagine. Thank you Kathleen!

This class will offer you a space to freely develop your own personal narrative with found objects; transforming ordinary pages of text into something mythical and profound, using something as simple as an old book as your base. We will bravely enter into creative new territories in this process oriented class.

If you'd like to see what these wonderful pieces of art look like, feel free to come into the store, we have two samples here at Artists' Mediums Inc.

GOLDEN Acrylic Ground for Pastels is a 100% acrylic medium designed to prepare surfaces for the application of pastels, charcoal and other art media where a coarse tooth is desired. It contains finely ground sand (silica) in a pure acrylic emulsion. Acrylic Ground for Pastels can be applied to paper, canvas, wood or any primed support. This allows almost limitless applications for media typically confined to standard papers.
GOLDEN Absorbent Ground is an acrylic liquid surfacing medium that dries to a porous, paper-like surface. Applied over gessoed canvas, it allows for raw canvas-like staining and watercolor effects. Lightfast, permanent and flexible. Health Labeled (HL) Product. Not for use by children.
GOLDEN Fiber Paste feels like lightly pressed handmade paper– White fibers add strength, absorbency, texture and a unique woven feel. The dry Fiber Paste imparts a rough, watercolor paper-like surface that can be used to create paper-like “skins” to be used in a variety mixed media.
All these "Try It" items are made here in the U.S.A.!
