Once again, this subject has come up.

Would local artists would like to gather and share information and ideas about how and where we find our creative spark, and about how we each in our own way follow that sometimes rather winding path towards self expression?

There are many Galleries to show your art,

and there are arts organizations which help promote art,

but where is it that artists can meet to discuss creating?

I have often said that we all seem to work in a void.
If you are interested in joining or forming a discussion group, I would love your input.
Stop by the store to let us know your thoughts on gathering a group together!

We are getting ready for the GIFT EXHIBIT.

What is the GIFT SHOW?
We are looking for new art. (That Artists Mediums has not shown before)
Small-ish/reasonably priced works, that you think folks may want to purchase to give as gifts during the holiday season.

The rules are simple..this is a public place so keep it PG, if it isn't safe to hang, we'll refuse it...

This will be the last show, during which we will still be taking only a 20% commission.
(Begining in February 2012, we will have to start taking 30% commission.)

All art needs to have the accompanying paperwork, already filled out.
This includes your LIST of product, which also serves as a waiver of liability,
as well as a tag for each piece to identify your art.

I would like to announce the 2011 Show themes.
If you are interested in showing your artwork here, by knowing the themes in advance, you can challenge yourself to make NEW art which can be shown during our four shows this year.

ALL Artwork MUST be accompanied by the proper paperwork,

Pastels

Winsor Newton is discontinuing thier line of Soft Pastels.

I am asking all my Pastel customers which Pastel line I should carry.
So far, I hear NUMEROUS answers!
I am waiting until there is a general consensus, (so let me know what you think!) but in the meantime, I thought I'd mention that the

Winsor Newton Pastels are at a 25% discount off of the list price right now,

until they are gone.

there are some really wonderful instructional videos on line that you might enjoy.

It has begun! Year 3 of 24 Hour Comics day at Artists' Mediums in Williston, VT

It is so quiet!!!

Spirit of Childhood show.

Call to Artists! Our In-Store Art show from May 5th through July 28th will be dedicated to "The Spirit of Childhood." Bring us your ART, childhood memories, your own impressions of childhood, portraits of children, and of course any children's art as well! We are trying to keep these as open as possible, because we know our customers are incredibly creative! Any age, any Media.
