Canvas rack

I was trying to decide how to make the canvas rack that we have able to hold more canvas...
maybe even make it look nice...

After too much struggle, I remembered the phrase "you can't make a silk purse out of  a sow's ear",
and decided to put it out of it's misery. :)

Everything we have fits much more smoothly in this rack.
Ok  I'll admit the Really big stuff isn't in the rack, (and there is more canvas on the way), but we will always find room for more product!

Ways to help

Artists' Mediums Inc was very lucky to be completely unscathed by the recent flooding here in Vermont.

This was part of my drive to work monday -chels

Many others were not nearly so lucky, as several towns are still unaccessable, and many are still without power.

There are lots of ways to help:

Today, (wed. Aug 31st) a family in Pittsfield reported that they bought the last loaf of bread at the market. IF YOU ARE IN OR AROUND RUTLAND, PLEASE DROP OFF SUPPLIES AT Restoring Rutland ~ 34 STRONGS AVENUE FROM 9AM-9PM. These supplies will be delivered to Mendon, Killington, and Pittsfield. Families are eager to get more water, baby food and formula, diapers, dog food, cleaning supplies, etc. Any help is appreciated. Thank you all.

This would be a lovely photo of a lake, if it weren't a  farmer's field.

You can also help through the Red cross:

Another way to help:
Vermont's Largest Hunger-Relief Organization - Vermont Foodbank

Not your Grandmother's Canvas

Ok, well, we probably have that too ..

But the old days of canvas in sizes of only 8x10, 11x14, and 16x20 are gone!

We have a huge selection, like for example:
10x10, 10x20, 12x24, 18x36,
Even really large ones:
20x60, 30x40, 36x36, 36x60, & 60x72
There's even a product called watercolor canvas!
...and if we don't have it in stock, we might even be able to get it!

The Gift show is lovely!

All of us at Artists Mediums want to thank all the talented customers and friends of the store who have brought thier artwork in to make our gift show so beautiful!
I don't have room here to list all these talented folks, for we have over 70 pieces of art on our walls, and are showing the creativity of over 50 artists in this store, but I would like to mention a few of you, since I am going to show pictures of your art.

Here's a small sampling:
from handmade scarves and tote bags,(Thanks to Dawn O'Connell, Martha Ohliger, and Lynn Powers.)
and wooden ornaments and puzzles, (Thanks to Harvey Bartlett)
and Snowflakes of Vermont wooden ornaments (Thanks to Betsy Sylvester) We even have outdoor quality "leaf cast" cement sculptures
made by the high school students of Christ Covenant School in Marshfield Vermont, and 85% of those proceeds go directly back to that school's art program!
We even have some beautifully decorated small picture frames.
(Thanks to Sharon Diner and Season Hubley)

Come an see this amazing selection!
We also have many small traditional watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings. Buy one of a kind gifts for your friends and families during the holiday season, with the joy of knowing the money is staying local!
(Remember, we only take a 15% commission, so the artist takes home 85% of their asking price.)
